Originally from Asia, Lemon is currently cultivated worldwide from Argentina to China or Southafrica with highlight on the Mediterranean region where countries such as Italy and Spain, specially, are producing the best quality lemons. The essential oil; a pale yellow liquid with citrus scent, is extracted by cold expression from the outer part of the fresh peel. 
 
Some interesting facts:
 
–       The juice and peel are widely used as a domestic seasoning. It is very nutritious, being high in vitamins A, B, and C.

–       Back in the days, it was used against Malaria and typhoid fever.
